'Untitled' | 2019.

'Untitled' | Recycled Paper, Reclaimed Fabric, Wire and Thread | 24cm x 26cm x 4cm | 2019.

A study of a Golden Emperor Moth (Loepa katinka) from South and Southeast Asia and a Male Emperor Moth (Saturnia pavonia) which can be found in the UK. They have been mounted together on a black background to highlight their amazing colours and framed in a black frame.

The wings have been cut from an old brown paper bag and a broken Map and hand embroidered to create the detailed patterns. The bodys have also been hand embroidered and stitched together from reclaimed fabric.

The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Oak which has been oxidised to create the dark colouring and then oiled.. It has a wire on the back so it will hang from a wall or can stand on a shelf or mantel piece.
