'Feather Study II' | Recycled Paper, Wire and Thread | 24cm x 26cm x 4cm | 2020.
 
A collection of life sized bird feathers from around the world, including a Greater Spotted Wood Pecker, a Brown Thrasher, a Ruffed Grouse and a Mallard.
 
The feathers were cut from recycled bird books and magazine pages and painted with water colours to create the patterning. They were then cut out and mounted to a thread bound wire to create the 3D shape.
 
The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It has a wire on the back so it will hang from a wall or can stand on a shelf or mantel piece.
