'Untitled Fungi' | Recycled Paper, Wire and Thread | 24cm x 26cm x 4cm | 2020.

A life sized study of a pair of Amithyst Deceivers and Pixie Cup Lichen, found commonly in British woodland.

The fungi have been hand carved from old book pages and covered with recycled tissue paper to create the cap and gills. The stalk is made from paper mache and the whole thing painted with water colours to create a more realistic and vibrant colour. The oak leaf is made from recycled paper and painted with water colours and inks. Wires are sandwiched through the middle of the leaf to create the crinkled shape and a wire and paper mache stalk is attached to the bottom.

The frames are handmade for each display from solid wood and glass. This particular frame has been made from Ash wood and lightly oiled. It has a wire on the back so it will hang from a wall or can stand on a shelf or mantel piece.
